Who Are We?
Happy Arts Events is the brainchild of Jenny DelGizzi and Robin Mitzcavitch who have been working together to spread the joy and healing of creative art experiences through a variety of mixed media techniques. We have been teaching together for 10 years in the outreach and non-profit arena and have been doing specialized classes for adults for 3+ years. Both Jenny and Robin teach and work and live in the Worcester Massachusetts area. Jenny is a journal and mixed media artist, and Robin’s specialty is fiber and mixed media art.
In 2015, it began as an art outreach to local nonprofits such as city programs and family shelters. We still do that work, and to support the program and to create and teach new ways to love art expression, we have been running events. Our focus is on individual creation and expression using mixed media and upcycled materials. We lift up the fact that we are all creative beings who benefit from being able to freely express that creativity in a safe and encouraging space. All materials are included!
We can teach at your home or business or event as well. This is not a "paint night"...it's a discovery process that is uniquely yours.
With Creative Hearts,
Robin and Jenny

Art Experiences Offered
There are a variety of classes that we teach, including combinations of experiences:
Our Offerings:
Gel Printing Classes:
Gelli printing is a fun and versatile way to create unique art. Discover (or practice!) using a gel printing plate, paint, brayers, interesting papers and stencil/imprint objects. You can produce wonderful works of art to use in collage, journals, greeting cards, scrapbooks, or framed art! You can even print on fabric!
Journal Classes:
Treasure Journals, Junk Journals, Midori Journals class is a calming fusion of journal making, printing, and collage. Begin to fill your journals with words and images that flow from your inner creative source. Try Gelli printing, stencil, and paper craft and then use these creations to assemble a journal. We will teach other journal-making techniques and the art of creating your own unique and beautifully inspired pages. There will be time to spend collecting thoughts and words that you may like to begin journaling with. We lift up the fact that we are all creative beings who benefit from being able to freely express that creativity in a safe and encouraging space.
Collage Classes:
We teach collage techniques. There are many ways to go with collage, like mixed media using magazine images, paint, fabric, fiber, and papercraft. We also teach about using collaged images and specialty paper for decoupage... decorating objects like boxes and wallhangings.
Zine-making- Making "zines" is a super fun way to use collage and sketching, cartooning, and words to tell a story about yourself or anything that is on your mind. We teach the history of Zines and a variety of ways to assemble them.
